“Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, play and work.”
Joseph H. Pilates
Anja profoundly believes that the Pilates method can improve people’s physical and mental abilities and quality of life. And that Joseph Pilates created a training method that is key to a healthier society.
Anja’s goal as a trainer is to create progression, efficiency and sustainable change and, first and foremost, – joy of movement.
Background:
Anja`s fascination with Pilates started when she was still dancing professionally. She looked for a training method that could strengthen and support her body in the extreme physical challenges she encountered daily. She also wanted to recover from years of physical strain, injuries and symptoms of overload after 15 years on stage.
The effectiveness of Pilates awoke a deep curiosity and passion for the Pilates method and a desire to pass it on and teach Pilates to improve people’s quality of life and athletic ability. In 2005 she moved to Berlin for 4 years to study and immerse herself in the Pilates method under the guidance of her teacher Eduardo Laranjeira. She also started her own studio in Berlin. From 2009-2025 Anja had her own studio Incore Pilates, in Copenhagen.
Anja is comprehensively certified in classical Pilates by Eduardo Laranjeira (2nd generation lineage by Romana Kryzanowska, who was a protégé of Joseph Pilates)
Anja is especially intrigued by the functionality and effectiveness of the method. How we can keep learning through movement, build strength and balance and regain freedom and mobility. And learn to center and balance strength and power to move and act with awareness.
